Central Nevada Museum Gift Shop

Step inside and take a journey through Central Nevada’s story

From the dusty trails of pioneer life and the boom days of mining and ranching, to the deep cultural roots of the Western Shoshone.

Our state-of-the-art museum brings it all to life with engaging displays and fascinating local treasures. But our history isn’t just about people—it’s also about the land itself. Explore exhibits on the geology, plant life, and natural wonders that make this region unlike anywhere else.

Whether you’re a child discovering history for the first time or an adult who’s never set foot in a museum before, we’re here to welcome you. As part of the heart of our community, we love introducing newcomers to the stories, landscapes, and spirit of Nye and Esmeralda counties and beyond.

The museum gift shop contains a complete line of Historical Central Nevada area books.

The Central Nevada Museum occupies a unique place in the retelling of the annals of the West. The famous, not so famous, and infamous, all left their mark in central Nevada: film  mogul and industrial magnate, Howard Hughes; prizefighting promoter, George “Tex” Rickard (who built Madison Square Garden); the founder of United Parcel Service (UPS), Jim Casey; lawmen, Wyatt and Virgil Earp; the last woman to be executed in California, Barbara Graham; the first to find silver in Tonopah, Jim Butler and many others are represented at the Central Nevada Museum.

Admission is Free
